Pistola Rainbow Sweater for a Standard Day.
This rainbow striped sweater tee was such a joy-sparker! It reminds me of Missoni but costs $108. I love the unexpected color combo — not sure if you can see, but it includes a pretty pale pink, red, yellow, blue, green, navy! Fabulous. I’m wearing here with the Quince cotton pintuck skirt, which is a great look for less for Doen’s Sebastiane. This skirt runs big — I took an xs (my usual size) and it’s pretty gappy in the waist. Size down if you can! Otherwise, it truly is perfection — great quality and a heavier weight cotton (more opaque) than Doen.

I love all your thoughtful styling, Jen! I often feel like I rarely (if at all) have the time to intentionally think through outfits, so I appreciate all these ideas in your Friday “what I loved wearing” posts.
A couple of questions for you –
– I have been wanting to try those mesh/netted/woven flats but I always worry about the texture of the shoe inside and whether it rubs against the skin. What has your experience been?
– I am a late adopter of the barrel leg denim trend — I didn’t want to pay full price last season for a trend I’m experimenting with, but I just got a barrel leg pair from Madewell. I’m not sure if I recall this correctly but did you write something up about styling barrel leg jeans? I couldn’t find it through the search feature of your site.

Hi! Gosh, thanks so much for the encouraging words!! Appreciated more than you know, especially as I sit here sweating through my blouse (our A/C decided to stop working today).
For mesh flats — the Staud ones are SO SOFT. Like it’s an unbelievably soft cotton webbing. It feels like you’re wearing nothing at all. This is not the case for all mesh shoes I’m sure, but absolutely this style. They’re barely there.
Barrel legs — I like to balance the fullness of the silhouette with a slimmer/trimmer top like a fitted tee or sweater, or at least with a blouse that is thin and tuckable at the waist so you can clearly define the waist. Doen has lots of great “featherweight” blouses that are perfect for this.

I love all of these!!! If you have more rainbow pics, I’m looking for pride gear. Open to jewelry too? I’m gathering a bundle of affirming kids’ books to add to our library and I’m making a little reading guide for parents. Pride isn’t huge where I live yet so I’m looking to be visible and spark conversation. I was looking at Boden and they have lots of happy rainbows but I’m looking for something a little more fashion-y like your pick, the really femme dresses are lovely but more something I’d wear to church

I think the tuckernuck is perfect!! And I love a summer knit, it’s close in silhouette to my Sandro favorites! I like that Pistola sweater too but it’s already too hot here for even a short sweater

Hey Jen! How are the jelly version of the Ancient Greek sandals? Comfortable? Not for major walking but walking over to a pool area in a neighborhood etc.
Hi! They are definitely good for walking to a pool area, hanging out at the pool, etc. I wear them all the time to/from pool. I would say not good for like a day at the zoo or something where you’ll be really active on your feet, because I do think the rubber would eventually irritate the ankle or toe where the straps hit those parts. But totally appropriate for walking like 10 min to/from pool and hanging out in them all day!
