Jen’s Weekend Drafts: New Music to Love.

By: Jen Shoop

+NEW MUSIC!: So excited to be playing Kacey’s latest single and the preview tracks from Olivia Dean’s The Art of Loving album this week! What else are you listening to right now? I’ve learned some of my favorite artists from you all, including Faye Webster!

+LABOR DAY SALE FINDS: My top picks from across loads and loads of promotions this weekend below…note that the Jenni Kayne sweater is nearly sold out on their site but also on sale here. The only item not in the collage below that deserves a look: Alice Walk tees, 20% off!! So polished and so soft and so chic. Perfect shape, colors, style. I love the way they look tucked into jeans.

AYR HALF DAY TEE // BEST BRA // VERONICA BEARD BUTTON-DOWN // CHIC FALL BOOTS // JENNI KAYNE SWEATER (MORE HERE) // BEYOND YOGA TANK AND LEGGINGS // HOTEL LOBBY DIFFUSER (PROMO: BUY ONE GET A REFILL FREE) // MILLE TOP (50% OFF)

+SIMPLE + QUIET IS BEST: Rainer pretty much wraps it up here, minus drinking milk:

+AN END OF SUMMER COLOR PALETTE: I loved this late-August palette and the evocative terms beneath from Jenna Is Feeling. It made me wonder about which ones will last into fall? Surely the freshly started book, the latte on the shore (now hot, not iced). We’ll mix in a cranberry-colored sunset and a mocha-hued afternoon coffee date.

STONEY CLOVER PARIS COLLECTION: OMG, this little horse situation from Stoney Clover’s new Paris collection?! I logged onto the site an hour after the pouch launch and it was already sold out :(. This mini bag is SO cute though.

+BESTSELLERS: These cool sneakers!

01. TORY BURCH SNEAKERS // 02. TORY BURCH MINI CROSSBODY // 03. BETTY DRESS // 04. TUCKERNUCK BLOUSE // 05. AYR HALF DAY TEE // 06. RATTAN PUMPKINS // 07. STRIPED J. CREW TEE // 08. WRAP SWEATER // 09. LA LIGNE LOOK FOR LESS // 10. BOMBAS RUFFLE PERFORMANCE SOCKS

I was just thinking how chic it is to distill yourself to your essence and carry it across the years like a signature scent. I’m lately looking through old photos of myself trying to pick out the consistent elements of my style, the things that make me hum with joy, and thinking of the way your dad keeps to his routine even on vacation, or the way I know exactly what jewelry my Nana is wearing right now, or the way it feels when you run into an old acquaintance and realize they still do something (my buddy still making embroidered denim jackets a decade later). Trying hard to look at posts and pick out the things that feel like « me » which is a challenge when I love everything! Especially your blog or Mary Hafner’s posts I find myself screenshotting everything and then later telling myself to pare down and edit. Those Tory Burch sneaks were an instant yes for me when I realized my current self AND my high school and college selves would love them.
